This one-day course is designed for civilian firearm owners seeking a safe, practical introduction to handguns. Students will learn the fundamentals of firearm safety, proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, ammunition basics and selection, handgun selection and safe storage, and essential shooting fundamentals. Instruction also covers basic marksmanship, routine pistol inspection and maintenance, and shooting range etiquette and safety.

The course blends easy-to-understand classroom instruction with supervised live-fire training on the range, allowing students to apply what they’ve learned in a controlled, supportive environment. Whether you are new to firearms or looking to reinforce safe handling practices, this course provides the knowledge and confidence needed for responsible handgun ownership.
